Since 2014, Lightsview Retirement Village has been dedicated to hosting fundraising events for the Cancer Council. This year, the tradition continued with another successful morning tea, bringing our community together for a cause close to our hearts.

Cancer has touched the lives of many residents at Lightsview, making this cause deeply meaningful. Over 70 residents gathered for the morning tea, reflecting their collective passion and commitment to supporting the Cancer Council. The event was filled with heartfelt conversations, delicious treats and a sense of unity that reminded us of the strength we find in each other. It was a beautiful display of solidarity and generosity, strengthening the bonds within our village.

Over the years, this event has raised an estimated $12,000. This year alone, our village contributed an impressive $2100 to the ongoing fight against cancer, showing that together, we can make a significant impact.

The origins of this heartfelt gathering trace back to the village's early days. It all started with a Ladies Chat Group, which envisioned supporting various charities through events. In recent years, a few dedicated residents from the Social Group have taken over organising the event, demonstrating our community's unwavering support for the Cancer Council and other significant causes.
